I was raised around horses and can not remember a time that they were not a part of my daily life. I have over 20 years experience in the show ring, training and giving lesson. I specialize in western but have spent a lot of time riding hunt seat and jumping. Over the years I have found that communication and patience is key to a good partnership between horse and rider.
I have a special bond with all of my horses but have spent the last 19 years with my black Quarter Horse, Sonnys Moonshot. We have done everything from western pleasure to ranch sorting, team penning, barrel racing, roping and trail riding. Moon has also been an excellent lesson horse in the past and is now being a great teacher to my youngest son.
Our 26 year old Paint horse Speck has been one of my greatest teachers of all. He has taught me the importance of patience, perseverance and proper nutrition due to many health problems he had when we purchased him. Speck has also been a past lesson horse and although he is mostly retired now he doesn't mind packing a small beginner around and letting people groom him along with giving him lots of attention.
Jokers Bar Dee is my latest addition to our family. He has been with us a little over 4 years now. Joker was purchased at a local sale yard and was in fairly poor condition. I gave him time to grow along with good nutrition before we began his training and he is always so quick to please and ready to learn. His patience, love and prankster personality has won him a place with us forever.
